David M. Haybron, MD, FACS, FACP

David
M. Haybron joined Pittsburgh CardioThoracic Associates
from The Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he specialized in advanced cardiothoracic
techniques including complex mitral valve repairs, the Maze III procedure
for atrial fibrillation, septal myomectomy for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy,
the Dor procedure for ischemic cardiomyopathy, and valve-sparing root replacements.
Dr. Haybron's areas of interest include minimally invasive aortic and mitral
valve surgery - both repair and replacement, off-pump (beating heart) coronary
bypass surgery, and aortic arch and thoracoabdomlnal aneurysm repairs.
He completed his
internship and general surgery residency at the University of California Los
Angeles Center for the Health Sciences. At UCLA he co-authored research awarded
the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2000 for nitric oxide metabolism. He received
his medical degree and his thoracic and cardiovascular surgery training at
Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.
