Pittsburgh Heart's experienced instructors are committed to teaching BLS (Basic Life Support), CPR ( cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and first aid training. We understand the demands of everyday life and strive to make our classes convenient and easy to learn. We offer classes at our comfortable, convenient location, in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. We are willing to travel to teach large groups. Our Instructors are certified to issue certifications through the American Heart Association and Health and Safety Institute. In addition to teaching BLS, CPR, and First aid, we also host suicide prevention seminars. We use these seminars to promote positive body image, anti-bullying, and recovery after the loss of a loved one. It is our mission to save lives through community training.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
We only offer BLS through the American Heart Association. This class course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. The BlS Course Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
We offer certification through the American Heart Association and the American Health and Safety Institute. The CPR, AED, and First Aid courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for your job. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
We offer certification through the American Health and Safety Institute. The course is the same as our base level CPR/AED/First Aid certification with a few minor changes. The American Safety & Health Institute will ship the hands-on skill components directly to your home. The American Heart Association does offer a blended option for their classroom training. Please inquire for more information.
Certified and Experienced Instructors
Pittsburgh Heart requires our instructors to meet base level certification requirements for a minimum of 4 years with the American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Health and Safety Institute. We also require our Instructors to have life experience working in either the criminal justice or medical fields. This allows Pittsburgh Heart to offer quality educational training.
Administer CPR with Confidence
Our class curriculum conforms to current guidelines set by the American Heart Association and Health and Safety Institute. We guarantee once you complete the certification course, you will have the skills necessary to effectively administer quality BLS, CPR, and/or first aid to infants, children, and adults.
